Grand Hotel Stockholm

Since 1874 prominent personalities have come to the Grand Hotel Stockholm. And today, top-class events take place in this venerable house.

Behind the discrete facade you will find a house full of history. French chef Régis Cadier took the initiative and founded the first colonial-style hotel to be added to other hotels in Europe. He loved glamorous events and first-class hotel guest service. This is why, the Cadier Bar was named after him.

Movie stars, presidents, kings and Nobel laureates felt truly at home. The very first Nobel Banquet took place in 1901 at the Grand Hotel Stockholm. This tradition went on until 1929. After this year the event became too big and popular and was therefore moved to the Stockholm City Hall. What remained were the Nobel prize winners and their families. Traditionally, these are still staying at the Grand Hotel Stockholm today.

Stockholm - Venice of the north

There is always a certain fascination connected to places that are close to the water. The same goes for Stockholm. A gulf of the Baltic Sea encloses the city with numerous bays, headlands and small islands. This area is also known as the Stockholm archipelago. Stockholm extends onto 14 islands, which are connected by 53 bridges. With its many bridges it reminds of a place in the Mediterranean sea and is therefore called "Venice of the North". Visit the Drottningholm Palace, the well-known Stortorget Square or the ABBA Museum as well as other highlights in the Scandinavian metropolis of Stockholm.
